Maria Crocker

Maria has been a member of the Family First team since September 2020 when she returned to law after a 10-year break to concentrate on her family. Maria graduated with a law degree from the Open University in 2002 while working with various law firms to ascertain what area of law she preferred. In 2005 she started working in the family law field and has never looked back. Maria is an Student of CiLEX and continues to study with them with the hope of one day managing to find the time to finish her qualifications and become a Chartered Legal Executive.

Maria is a highly skilled Trainee Legal Executive with over 10 years of experience in Family Law. Maria assists in all aspects of Family Law and has exceptional attention to detail who strives for perfection in everything she does. Over her years of experience, she has gained a substantial knowledge and puts these to practice by preparing bundles for hearings, assisting clients with Form E’s and updating financial disclosure as well as drafting statements and applications. Maria has significant experience in Children Act matters and Maria enjoys the variety of work involved in family law and works well under pressure of time and workload. She works closely with the solicitors of the firm to ensure that deadlines are met on time and likes to keep client’s updated about their cases and as well as assists where she can.

Outside of work, Maria is a family driven person and loves nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Maria also enjoys seeing shows at the theatre and has even trodden the boards herself in her local amateur dramatics society as well has having recorded a few audiobooks for Amazon under a pseudonym. In her local area Maria actively supports the youth centre and is a youth leader and mentor for the children in the village where she lives. Maria is very active and involved with Youth work charities both here and in Kenya.
